Warning: Fake Accounts Impersonating GECJMDA

Protect yourself – verify before you trust.

We have become aware of fraudulent accounts on Facebook, Telegram, and other platforms that are impersonating GECJMDA and our team members – including accounts using the names “Mr Sonko Private Chat”, “Mr Sonko Travel Permit”, and similar variations. These accounts are SCAMS. They are not connected to GECJMDA, Yahya Sonko, Mafoday Cham, or any of our official programmes.

How to Spot a Scam

  • They ask you to move the conversation to Telegram, Zangi, or another private app
  • They offer jobs in Germany (gardener, driver, caregiver) and ask you to pay for a ‘ticket’ (often €4,000–€5,000)
  • They claim to ‘register the ticket under your name’
  • They ask you to send personal photos or travel documents before any official process
  • They pressure you to act quickly or lose the ‘opportunity’

Remember

Visa is a process – not a deal. No legitimate job or visa programme requires you to pay for a ticket before any signed contract, official documentation, or embassy appointment. GECJMDA will never contact you through anonymous Telegram accounts or ask for upfront payments outside of our official, transparent fee structure.
